Veterans Resources

We want to support our Veterans as much as we can during this stressful time. Therefore, we are providing some resources with information to assist local Veterans with extra mental health or other types of support whenever they need it.

StillServingVeterans – Still Serving Veterans (SSV) is here to serve and honor Veterans and their families by empowering them to build meaningful lives through connections to fulfilling careers, benefits, and services; and to proactively strengthen Veteran communities through leadership and collaboration. Career Services offered Nationally, VA and Resource connections available in North AL only.

MakeTheConnection.net – Connects Veterans, their families and friends, and other supporters to mental health information, gives a tool for finding local mental health resources, provides information on the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges, descriptions of research-based treatment options, and videos of Veterans sharing their own inspiring stories of recovery.

Veterans Crisis Line – Are you a Veteran in crisis or concerned about one? Connect with the Veterans Crisis Line to reach caring, qualified responders with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Many of them are Veterans themselves. Free support is confidential and available 24/7— Call 1-800-273-8255, chat here, or text 838255.

STUDIO 60 SENIOR CENTER CARES ABOUT OUR VETERANS

Studio 60 honors our Senior Veterans for service to their country, family, and community. In November 2021, we partnered with Operation Gratitude for the first recognition day. We had a drive through the Center’s parking lot so we could give them an appreciation box.

Veterans Day 2022 we had a face-to-face breakfast. It was held at the Redstone Arsenal Summit. The American Legion, Post 237, and Columbia High School ROTC (under the direction of CSM Nathaniel Bartee) volunteered to help give out the gift boxes. The day was cold and rainy outside, but it was warm and energetic inside.

Our Veterans Celebration for November 2023 has been canceled due to many factors. We will let you know about 2024!
