AS A MEALS ON WHEELS VOLUNTEER,

WHAT AM I EXPECTED TO DO?

§ Deliver meals to a maximum of 13 clients, once a month

§ Arrive on time at the Senior Center (between 10:45 and 11:05)

§ Pick up your 2 carriers for your assigned route

§ Pick up your tray, and your clipboard with your list of client names and addresses and directions to their homes

§ Take the meal into each home; you are not expected to spend a lot of time with each client; if you stay too long, the rest of your clients will receive a late meal

§ Return to the Senior Center when you have completed your deliveries; report any clients who were not home or didn’t come to the door

§ If you are unable to drive on your scheduled day, notify us no later than 24 hours in advance, so we can get a substitute for you.  If you do not call, it will be difficult if not impossible to find someone to deliver the food

§ If you are willing to be a substitute driver – let us know; you can specify the days/routes when you will be available.  We will usually call no later than the day before we need you.  We understand you will not be available every time we call.  We appreciate the times you can fill in for someone else!
