The Senior Center Health Room is staffed with two Registered Nurses and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. The nurses are available to provide health services both at the Senior Center and out in the community. Our goal is to promote health and wellness among all seniors in Madison County. We strive to educate seniors about ways to stay healthy and offer guidance for preventing and managing disease.

SERVICES FOR SENIORS

• Blood pressure screenings

• CPR classes

• PACE arthritis exercise classes

• Routine first aid

• Insurance counseling (call for appointment)

• Off-site screenings and presentations

• Resource library with health-related videos and books for loan

• Lending closet with wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs and more available free to seniors in need

• Blood sugar screenings

• Foot inspection

• Diabetic support group

• Free blood sugar monitors

• Assistance with diabetes self-management techniques

• Nutritional counseling

• Insulin injections administered with a prescription
